![]() ![]() If we wanted to surf while watching the game, we could make the TV window smaller, put it in a corner, or move it to the other screen on the side. How much more? With the latest EyeTV 3.0 software, we could not only watch, but was able to pause and rewind live TV right on the Mac.Īnother benefit of watching TV on the multi-screen setup was the ability to pick the size and placement of the TV window. The Stick can handle unscrambled cable signals, digital and analog TV signals, and HD broadcasts where available. While the EyeTV Hybrid tuner is tiny (Elgato's smallest ever), it is packed with features and capabilities. In fact, it is the reasons why we no longer have a subscription to basic Cable. We have been using the Micron indoor antenna for the Sony large screen and its performance has just been awesome. BTW, theClearstream Micron antenna is flat, so it was easy to find a place for it. While it wasn't as nice as kicking back and watching the Patriots on the 46" Sony Bravia, it was reasonable for watching the game, especially since the picture was in HD. The 21" Apple Cinema Display hooked up to the laptop would be the main screen. The setup was simple: attach the Micron antenna to the Elgato Tuner Stick, insert the Stick into a free USB port on the laptop, and install the EyeTV 3.0 software. It then dawned on us: we already had all the pieces in-house to put something together for watching the games-a large monitor, the Elgato TV Tuner Stick, and the ClearStream Micron antenna. While we are happy to report that Sony is stepping up and sending a tech out to take a look, it means that we have to go elsewhere for watching football over the weekend. Our Sony Bravia large screen LCD TV is on the fritz. Hey guys, I know a lot of us have the Elgato Eyetv Hybrid and would love to use it on our Macs in conjunction with Bootcamp & Windows.September 26, 2011- We need a TV. Well I finally figured out how to do it! All I had to do is slightly modify some Windows drivers. The hardware being used is very similar to the Hauppauge USB Sticks.Įlgato made 2 versions of the hybrid the older version without QAM and the newer version with QAM. (It has been brought to my attention they also have a new version out with radio capabilities). ![]() ![]() I have only been able to test this on the hybrid WITH QAM. ![]() I was able to slightly modify the Hauppauge drivers which allowed the Elgato Eyetv Hybrid to work under windows using both the Windows Media Center and the standalone player by Hauppauge. Vista users: Right click on Computer > Click Properties > Click Device Manager Now you should see some devices under "Other devices" with a yellow question mark next to them. Right click on either device > Click Properties > Click Details tab > Where it says Property, scroll down to Hardware IDs Both should be called "EyeTV Hybrid" There are two because the USB stick has both a digital and analog tuner. Now we can close the EyeTV Hybrid Properties windows which brings us back to Device Manager.ĭownload both the modified drivers (an attachment below) and the manufacturer software here: (If they don't match please provide me with your numbers so I can try and make drivers that will work for you.) If the bold numbers match, these drivers will work for you. Unzip and open the manufacturer software, navigate to the Drivers folder, and replace: HCWemBda.inf and HCWemBda64.inf with the modified drives you downloaded from me. ![]()
